MYOFASCIAL PAIN
Myofascial Pain Syndrome, also referred to as MPS, is a painful musculoskeletal condition and a common cause of musculoskeletal pain. MPS is characterized by the development of myofascial trigger points that are locally tender when active and refer pain through specific patterns to other areas of the body. This painful condition can be relieved through trigger point injections, and in some chronic cases of myofascial pain, combinations of physical therapy. Trigger point injections can be combined with physical therapy, medication, and massage in chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome cases. PCA can coordinate and manage this multi-disciplinary approach of care.
